0_Xperia_Z_UltraIt wasn’t long ago that a 3.5-inch screen was considered a large screen on a mobile phone but just a few years later 4.7-inch is quickly becoming a very normal display size and it’s not uncommon to come across screens larger than 5-inches. Samsung have had quite a bit of success with their large-screened Galaxy Note handsets and with some of the smaller tablets on the market measuring just 7-inches in screen size the gap between tablets and phones is getting ever smaller.

Sony may not be grabbing as many headlines as Samsung or Apple but in recent times they’ve consistently released some fantastic Android devices. With very classy designs and high build quality it’s hard to argue with those who have opted for a Sony handset in the last year and with Sony’s recent focus on waterproof phones they’re managing to offer something their rivals are not.

The Xperia Z Ultra is immediately eye-catching thanks to its 6.4-inch screen which is not only massive but runs at 1080p giving it an advantage over most other phones with very large screens. Inside the Xperia Z Ultra has a 2.2Ghz quad-core processor which will provide plenty of power for every day tasks as well as gaming and multimedia. Despite having a big footprint the Xperia Z Ultra is just 6.5mm thick and is a very attractive handset.

While the Xperia Z Ultra only has 16GB of on board storage a microSD slot allows up to 64GB of additional space should you need it. Such a big screen is sure to use a fair bit of power and Sony have put a 3,000mAh battery in the Xperia Z Ultra to make sure you don’t run out of juice too quickly. The camera on the back is 8-megapixel with a 2-megapizel sensor on the front.

If you’re after a massive screen, classy looks and don’t like having to worry about getting your phone wet then the Xperia Z Ultra may be the phone for you. It’s expected to become available in Europe around September time which gives you plenty of time to find the best price to recycle your old phone beforehand.
